Preparing the baccalauréat in Tunisia
The Tunisian baccalauréat comes down to two things: mastering the official syllabus and training on real past papers. This guide covers how to structure the year, which subjects to prioritise per stream, and where to find solved exercises and past exams.
Streams and coefficients
The Tunisian bac has several streams — Mathematics, Experimental Sciences, Technical Sciences, Computer Science, Economics & Management, Letters, Sport. Each has its own coefficient table, and that table should decide how revision time is split.
The common mistake is giving every subject the same hours. A coefficient-4 subject returns four times what a coefficient-1 subject returns for the same effort: the first decision of the year is arithmetic, not sentimental.
Three phases across the year
Phase one, from September to the winter break: follow the syllabus as it is taught, consolidating each chapter with exercises as soon as it ends. A chapter left "for later" is paid for in spring.
Phase two, January to March: move to past papers, working by topic rather than by whole paper, to spot the questions that recur session after session.
Phase three, April and May: full papers under timed exam conditions. This is where time management is won, and it costs more marks than gaps in the syllabus do.
Training on solved exercises
Reading a correction is not the same as searching for one. What works: attempt the exercise alone for a fixed time, note exactly where you got stuck, then open the correction — and redo the exercise the next day from scratch.
